Join our purpose-driven initiative dedicated to honoring the sacred master plants of the Amazon Rainforest. Guided by sustainability, conservation, and ancestral traditions, we personally source and create plant spirit medicines with deep reverence for their origins and stewards. Every offering is crafted with care and intention, fostering authentic connections and meaningful engagements with these sacred allies. Our mission is to ensure that these rare gifts of nature remain accessible while respecting their profound wisdom and the communities who protect them.
At Casa del Colibri, we believe in the intelligence of plants and the part their gifts play in our health and well being. Committed to being ethical and respectful stewards of the jungle and it's tribal communities, we hold the highest of sustainability standards while producing exceptional quality rainforest botanicals and offering hand made indiginous goods and ceremonial supplies. We hold dear these medicinal herbs, saving seed for future plantings and protecting them for future generations.
Plant Spirit Medicine is a form of spiritual remediation rooted in ancestral traditions that combines classical Chinese~ Five Element theory, the indigenous practice of calling upon plant spirits, and the Animism religion (the attribution of a soul to plants, inanimate objects, and natural phenomena.) Plant Spirit Medicine recognizes that like humans, plants have spirit, and their spirit has the unique capacity to touch and rebuild the spirit of a human being and restore us to our own essential nature. Our ancestors lived this way–-an existence in which there is no illusion of separation from nature. They would make friends with the spirits of nature and call upon them for restoration and other everyday affairs. This ancient practice was remembered, revitalized, and reintroduced by the late teacher and healer, Eliot Cowan, and has proven to be as effective in today’s world as in times past. Modern people are once again turning to plants for guidance and for their ability to regenerate spirit.
Lizzy Kaya-Leshy
Curator of Plant Spirit Medicines
My work with the sacred Master Plants is guided by deep passion and unwavering dedication. Honoring their spirits, preserving ancestral traditions, and ensuring sustainable practices reflect the immense care and respect I hold for this path. This is not simply about providing offerings but about being a steward, ensuring that those who engage these sacred plants do so with knowledge, intention, and reverence.
Educating and empowering others is central to what I do. Through storytelling and sharing plant wisdom, I strive to honor the authenticity of these sacred traditions. This work is a labor of love that I’ve built from the ground up, overcoming significant challenges along the way. It is fueled by my deep connection to the plants and the incredible communities who support and guide me. For me, this is so much more than a livelihood..it is a calling, a purpose, and something I hold close to my heart.
As the Curator of Plant Spirit Medicines, my role is deeply rooted in stewardship, respect, and reverence. While I may run this small business from the United States, I am supported by an incredible backbone: my Indigenous teams. They ensure that every harvest and collection is carried out in adherence to strict ancestral processes, always with respect for the plants and the lands they come from. Their wisdom, dedication, and connection to the plants are woven into every offering, and it is of utmost importance to me that they are very well taken care of. Their work supports entire communities, and I am committed to ensuring their efforts are honored and valued. This collaboration is the heart of everything I do, ensuring that each offering reflects not only the sacred nature of the plants but also the love and respect that goes into bringing them to you.
