**The Call of the Forest:**
In the heart of the ancient woods, where time dances to the rhythm of nature's song, a seeker of truths wanders amidst the whispering trees. Amongst the fallen leaves and moss-covered stones, a fallen branch of the revered Eastern red cedar catches their eye, its presence beckoning with a promise of sacred secrets.
**Nature's Whisper:**
With gentle hands, the seeker lifts the fallen branch, feeling the weight of centuries in its weathered bark. As they bring it home, a sense of anticipation fills the air – for they know that within the heart of this ancient cedar lies a story waiting to be told.
With reverence and curiosity, the seeker begins to split the branch, each motion revealing more of nature's hidden wonders. And there, amidst the rugged exterior, lies the revelation – perfect hearts, carved by the hand of Mother Earth herself, each one a testament to the love and wisdom of the Eastern red cedar.
**A Gift from the Forest:**
In their hands, the seeker holds three sacred treasures – one heart-shaped and two circular smudge discs, each pulsating with the sacred energy of the cedar. These are not mere objects, but symbols of connection and harmony, gifts from the forest to be cherished and honored.
**Honoring Tradition:**
The heart-shaped disc finds its place upon the seeker's altar, a beacon of love and unity amidst the chaos of the world. The circular discs, used in smudging rituals, carry the aromatic essence of the cedar, cleansing and purifying the seeker's space with every waft of smoke.
Join us on this journey of discovery and reverence as we unveil the magic of the Eastern red cedar. With your order, you'll receive a vibrant North American indigenous-inspired pouch to house your sacred smudging treasures, a reminder of the ancient wisdom that guides us all.

Deep within the ancient woodlands, where whispers of the wind carry tales of old, stood the majestic Eastern red cedar, revered by indigenous peoples for centuries. The cedar was a gift from the Great Spirit, a symbol of strength, wisdom, and healing.
According to indigenous beliefs, the Eastern red cedar was not merely a tree but a sacred being, embodying the spirit of the land. Its wood was believed to possess mystical properties, capable of warding off evil spirits and bringing blessings to those who honored it.
The indigenous people had a deep respect for the cedar, using every part of the tree with reverence and gratitude. They carefully harvested its aromatic wood, employing traditional methods passed down through generations. The process was not merely about obtaining material wealth but about maintaining harmony with nature and the spiritual realm.
The aromatic wood of the Eastern red cedar was used in various rituals and ceremonies. It was burned as incense to purify the air and cleanse the spirit, its sweet scent carrying prayers to the heavens. The smoke was believed to carry messages to the ancestors, bridging the gap between the physical and spiritual worlds.
Throughout history, the Eastern red cedar played a significant role in indigenous cultures. It was used to craft sacred objects such as totems, masks, and ceremonial drums, each piece infused with the essence of the cedar's spirit. These artifacts were treasured for their spiritual significance and passed down as heirlooms, connecting generations to their ancestral roots.
But the sacredness of the Eastern red cedar extended beyond its tangible manifestations. It was a symbol of resilience and endurance, standing tall amidst the ever-changing landscape of time. Its presence reminded the indigenous peoples of their connection to the land and the importance of preserving ancient wisdom for future generations.
As the sun set over the forest, casting golden hues upon the cedar's branches, the whispers of the wind carried on, echoing the timeless legacy of the sacred Eastern red cedar. And though the world may change, the spirit of the cedar would continue to endure, a beacon of hope and reverence for all who seek harmony with the natural world.

Plant Spirit Medicine is a form of spiritual remediation rooted in ancestral traditions that combines classical Chinese~ Five Element theory, the indigenous practice of calling upon plant spirits, and the Animism religion (the attribution of a soul to plants, inanimate objects, and natural phenomena.) Plant Spirit Medicine recognizes that like humans, plants have spirit, and their spirit has the unique capacity to touch and rebuild the spirit of a human being and restore us to our own essential nature. Our ancestors lived this way–-an existence in which there is no illusion of separation from nature. They would make friends with the spirits of nature and call upon them for restoration and other everyday affairs. This ancient practice was remembered, revitalized, and reintroduced by the late teacher and healer, Eliot Cowan, and has proven to be as effective in today’s world as in times past.
Modern people are once again turning to plants for guidance and for their ability to regenerate spirit.
